Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:03 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Royce West arrived after the roll was called at 2:04 PM.

 

Senator Schwertner made opening remarks.

 

Senator Schwertner called invited testimony to discuss Texas’ preparedness and response to the Ebola virus and other infectious diseases. See attached witness list.

 

Senator Schwertner closed invited testimony.

 

There being no further business, at 4:32 PM Senator Schwertner moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
