Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Thursday, February 20, 2014, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Nelson moved to operate under the committee rules adopted during the previous session. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Nelson made opening remarks regarding the Child Protective Services interim charge.

 

Senator Nelson called agency representatives to provide invited testimony (see attached witness list).

 

The chair moved that invited testimony on the Child Protective Services interim charge be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Nelson called agency representatives to provide invited testimony (see attached witness list).

 

The chair moved that invited testimony on the Women’s Health interim charge be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the Child Protective Services interim charge are shown on the attached list.

 

At 1:57 PM Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair.

 

At 2:10 PM Senator Nelson resumed the chair.

 

The chair moved that public testimony on the Child Protective Services interim charge be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
