Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Thursday, June 13, 2013, in the Senate Chamber.

The chair called the meeting to order at 3:45 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Nelson moved to operate under the committee rules adopted during the previous session. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out SB 5 and recognized the author, Senator Hegar, to explain the bill.

 

The chair laid out SB 13 and recognized the author, Senator Hegar, to explain the bill.

 

The chair laid out SB 18 and recognized the author, Senator Patrick, to explain the bill.

 

The chair laid out SB 24 and recognized Senator Schwertner, in the absence of the author, to explain the bill.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

At 6:50 PM Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair.

 

At 6:55 PM Senator Nelson resumed the chair.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Nelson moved that all bills be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 7:12 PM Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
