Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on State Affairs was held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:01 AM. There being a quorum present at 10:45 AM, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out interim charge 8:

Monitor the actuarial and financial conditions of the pension and health care programs administered by the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) and the Employees Retirement System (ERS).

 

The chair called the following witnesses to provide invited testimony on interim charge 8 (see attached witness list).

 

The chair moved that the testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 11:45 AM Senator Estes moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
