The chair called the meeting to order at 2:05 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 219 by Senator Huffman.

 

The committee had previously adopted four amendments. Senator Lucio moved to roll the amendments into a committee substitute; without objection it was so ordered.

 

Senator Lucio, Jr. sent up the committee substitute. Senator Lucio, Jr. moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Lucio moved that SB 219 do not pass but that CSSB 219 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 346 by Senator Seliger.

 

Senator Van de Putte sent up a committee substitute. Senator Van de Putte moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Van de Putte moved that SB 346 do not pass but that CSSB 346 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 1 nay, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 904 by Senator Van de Putte.

 

Senator Van de Putte moved that SB 904 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

Senator Van de Putte moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

At 2:09 PM Senator Lucio, Jr. assumed the chair.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 910 and recognized the author, Senator Duncan, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Duncan moved that the committee reconsider the vote by which the committee substitute was previously adopted; Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Duncan sent up a new committee substitute; the chair recognized Senator Duncan to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed. Senator Duncan moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 958 by Senator Fraser.

 

Senator Fraser sent up a committee substitute; the chair recognized Senator Fraser to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed. Senator Fraser moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Fraser moved that SB 958 do not pass but that CSSB 958 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

Senator Ellis sent up a committee substitute; the chair recognized Senator Seliger to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed. Senator Ellis moved adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Ellis moved that SB 1340 do not pass but that CSSB 1340 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 1 nay, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 1363 by Senator Huffman.

 

Senator Huffman moved that SB 1363 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
