Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Subcommittee on Fiscal Matters was held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 4:04 PM. The following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out SB 287 and recognized the author, Senator Nichols, to explain the bill. Senator Hegar sent up a committee substitute and recognized Senator Nichols to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed.

 

The chair laid out SJR 20 and recognized the author, Senator Nichols, to explain the bill. Senator Hegar sent up a committee substitute and recognized Senator Nichols to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on SB 287 and SJR 20 are shown on the attached list.

 

The clerk called roll.  There was a quorum present.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony for SB 287 and SJR 20 be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

Senator Nelson moved adoption of the committee substitute for SB 287; without objection, it was so ordered.
