Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Economic Development was held on Friday, May 17, 2013, in the Senate Chamber.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:04 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out HB 950 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Davis, to explain the bill.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Deuell moved that HB 950 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Davis assumed the chair.

 

The chair laid out HB 1966 and recognized Senator Deuell, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill.

Senator Davis moved that HB 2061 be left pending to await a quorum; without objection, it was so ordered. Upon arrival of a quorum, Senator Hancock moved that HB 3436 do not pass but that CSHB 3436 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.

 

Senator Deuell moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

Upon a motion made by Senator Deuell to suspend Senate Rules 11.10 and 11.18, the Senate Committee on Economic Development reconvened at 12:55 PM at Senator Deuell’s desk to address the following pending business:

HB 1966

HB 2061

 

Additionally, Senator Deuell suspended Senate Rules 11.10 and 11.18 to add the following bills to the desk meeting:

HB 983

HB 3634
