Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Business & Commerce was held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Carona asked if there would be objection to using the committee rules adopted during the regular session. There being none, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Carona proposed an interim work plan that identified dates for quarterly update hearings.  The schedule was approved by the members.

 

Senator Carona called the following agency representatives to provide quarterly updates:  Public Utility Commission (PUC); the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI); Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT); and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC).  (See attached witness list)

Senator Carona called the following person to provide public testimony (see attached witness list).

 

There being no further business, at 11:20 AM Senator Carona moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
