Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Rural Affairs & Homeland Security was held on Monday, April 7, 2014, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Estes made opening remarks regarding the border security and crime statistics interim charges.

 

Senator Estes called invited witnesses to provide testimony (see attached witness list).

 

The chair moved that invited testimony on the border security and crime statistics interim charges be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Estes moved that public testimony be opened. Witnesses testifying and registering on the border security and crime statistics interim charges are shown on the attached list.
