Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, April 29, 2013, in the E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 11:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out HB 407 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Birdwell, to explain the bill. Senator Uresti moved that HB 407 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. Senator Uresti moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out HB 2304 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Watson, to explain the bill. Senator Hancock moved that HB 2304 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. Senator Hancock moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 2, 2013, at 8:00 AM. The committee recommended the removal of SB 925, SB 1163, and SB 1871.

 

 Senator Uresti moved that the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 2, 2013, at 8:00 AM be certified. The motion carried with a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent, and 0 present not voting.

 

Senator Uresti moved that HB 407, HB 477, HB 2304 and HB 2377 be certified for the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 8:00 AM. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
