Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, April 15, 2013, in the E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 11:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out HCR 24 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Nichols, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Uresti moved that HCR 24 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent. Senator Uresti moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out SB 1871 and recognized the author, Senator Estes, to explain the bill. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Eltife moved that SB 1871 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Uresti moved that HCR 24 be certified for the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on Thursday, April 18th; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on April 18, 2013, at 8:00 AM. The committee recommended the removal of SB 817, SB 1398, and SB 1681.

 

Senator Uresti moved that the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on April 18, 2013, at 8:00 AM be certified. The motion carried with a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent, and 0 present not voting.

 

There being no further business, at 11:16 AM Senator Eltife moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
