Pursuant to a notice posted on July 1, 2013, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cook, at 3:34 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Cook; Giddings; Farrar; Frullo; Geren; Hilderbran; Huberty; Menéndez; Smithee; and Turner, Sylvester.

 

A quorum was present.

Representative Smithee moved that HB 2, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Cook; Craddick; Frullo; Geren; Harless; Hilderbran; Huberty; Smithee (8).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Giddings; Farrar; Turner, Sylvester (3).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Menéndez; Oliveira (2).

 

At 12:12 a.m., on July 3, 2013, on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
