Pursuant to a notice posted on April 22, 2014, the House Committee on Natural Resources met in a joint public hearing with the House Committee on Appropriations – S/C on Articles VI, VII, & VIII and was called to order by the respective chairs, Representative Ritter and Representative Darby, at 10:11 a.m.
The initial quorum call for Natural Resources was answered as follows: Representatives Ritter; Johnson; Ashby; Callegari; Larson; and Miller, Doug.
A quorum was present.
The initial quorum call for Appropriations – S/C on Articles VI, VII, & VIII was answered as follows: Representatives Darby; Raney; Ashby; Bell; and Márquez.
A quorum was present.
INTERIM CHARGE NUMBER 5
The chair laid out Interim Charge Number 5 which states, “Monitor the use of funds provided or made available to Texas in relation to the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill and make recommendations on the appropriate use of these funds in the future.”
