Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 17, 2013, and permission granted on May 17, 2013, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Higher Education met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Branch, at 3:34 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Branch; Alonzo; Clardy; Howard; Murphy; and Raney.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

SB 301

 

The chair laid out SB 301 as pending business.

 

The chair moved that SB 301, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Branch; Clardy; Howard; Murphy; Raney (5).

 

Nays:                           Representative Alonzo (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Patrick, Diane; Darby; Martinez, "Mando" (3).

 

At 3:35 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
