Pursuant to a notice posted on May 14, 2013, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Parker, at 9:21 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Parker; White; Allen; Rose; and Sheffield, J. D..

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

Representative  Parker moved that the May 9, 2013 minutes for the House Committee on Corrections be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

SB 1183

 

The chair laid out SB 1183.

 

Representative White offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The chair explains the measure.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative White moved that SB 1183, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion failed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Parker; White; Sheffield, J. D. (3).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Allen; Rose (2).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Riddle; Toth (2).

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was reported from committee.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Rose moved that SB 1185, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
