LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 16, 2013

TO:
Honorable Ryan Guillen, Chair, House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB615 by Estes (Relating to the contracting authority of the Texas Historical Commission.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to expand the general powers and duties of the Texas Historical Commission and authorize the agency to contract with for-profit entities. It is assumed that the Historical Commission would need to update agency rules, policies, and guidelines; however, it is anticipated the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State and could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
