SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1069
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Dollie and Jesus Lucio of Brownsville for their
	exemplary success with English Motors, Incorporated; and
	WHEREAS, Dollie and Jesus began their entrepreneurial
	efforts in the automotive industry with the $500 they received as
	a wedding gift from Jesus's father; through astute trading and an
	eye for quality vehicles, they were able to successfully increase
	their original investment into enough capital to start a small
	inventory, and they rented their first location in 1989; and
	WHEREAS, They began with an inventory of only seven
	vehicles and a single-room building as headquarters; since then,
	their hard work has enabled them to enlarge the operation; they
	now own two locations, and their sound business practices and
	strong relationships with financial institutions have given them
	sufficient flexibility to offer expanded financing opportunities
	to their customers; and
	WHEREAS, Through the years, their children have also
	played an important role in the growth of the business; they have
	each contributed in various ways to its success and have made
	their parents very proud; and
	WHEREAS, Dollie and Jesus Lucio are truly deserving of
	recognition for their determination, their hard work, and their
	commitment to excellence; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
	Legislature, hereby commend Dollie and Jesus Lucio on their
	outstanding efforts in establishing and building English Motors,
	Incorporated, and extend to them best wishes for continued
	success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
