SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 789
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
welcome the members of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce and |
|
|
to join them in celebrating May 8, 2013, as Texas-Israel Day at |
|
|
the State Capitol; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The people of Texas and the people of Israel share |
|
|
many values and interests, and the growing business between the |
|
|
two plays an important role in their respective economies; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The major areas of interest that bind Texas and |
|
|
Israel are energy, water, and health; examples of the beneficial |
|
|
relationship between the two include the discovery of natural gas |
|
|
in Israel by Noble Energy and Texas' use of groundbreaking |
|
|
Israeli water technology to help the state solve its ongoing |
|
|
water problems; and |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, In light of the joint economic and developmental |
|
|
activities in which Texas and Israel are participating, it is |
|
|
truly fitting that a day be set aside to celebrate their |
|
|
longstanding friendship and to foster an even closer |
|
|
relationship; now, therefore, be it |
| |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby welcome the members of the Texas-Israel |
|
|
Chamber of Commerce to Austin and extend to them best wishes |
|
|
for a productive Texas-Israel Day at the State Capitol; and, be |
|
|
it further |

|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|
|
honor of this special occasion. |
