SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 555
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Grace Post Wilson Farris on the grand occasion of her
  90th birthday; and
         WHEREAS, Well known for her charm and generous spirit,
  Grace Farris is a revered longtime resident of Beeville; and
         WHEREAS, Born on January 28, 1923, in Beechwood,
  Pennsylvania, she is a member of the Greatest Generation; during
  World War II, she assisted with the war effort through her work as
  a welding inspector for torpedoes and warplanes and as a die cut
  and press operator; and
         WHEREAS, She married Arthur Farris, and the couple lived
  the life of a military family, living at numerous naval bases
  before settling at Naval Air Station Chase Field in Beeville,
  where she raised their five children; she has been blessed with
  six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Farris worked for many years in the
  hospitality industry and is known throughout Beeville as the
  "Salad Queen"; a beloved and respected member of her community, she
  is noted for her courage, her compassion for others, and her
  enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby commend Grace Post Wilson Farris on her
  many achievements and extend to her best wishes for a memorable
  90th birthday; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as a memento of this milestone in her life.
