SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 502
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Dr. Charlsey Sharon Chumley, who has been selected for
	induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her
	outstanding work in the creative arts; and
	WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those
	women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio
	community and the Bexar County region through their
	accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
	WHEREAS, An artist, educator, and community leader, Dr.
	Chumley has enriched the lives of many; she is the Visual Arts
	Supervisor of the Fine Arts Department at Northside Independent
	School District, where she oversees the district's entire visual
	arts program; and
	WHEREAS, She was honored as the State Outstanding Art
	Supervisor of the Year by the Texas Art Education Association in
	2005; she is a certified trainer in concept-based curriculum and
	instruction, and her work has been published in many arts and
	education journals; she is noted for having created new methods
	for teaching art, and her work to further the training of arts
	educators has had a positive impact on many teachers and
	students; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Chumley is highly respected for her
	dedication to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as
	a creative artist and an educator, and she is an inspiration to
	women across our state; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
	83rd Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Charlsey Sharon Chumley for
	her exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her
	on her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and,
	be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
