R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five |
|
|
decades, Betty and Jim Flournoy of Lubbock celebrated their 50th |
|
|
wedding anniversary on April 20, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Jim Flournoy and the former Betty Clark exchanged |
|
|
the vows of matrimony at Slide Baptist Church in Lubbock on that |
|
|
memorable day in 1963, and over the course of their marriage, they |
|
|
have found in each other a devoted life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Flournoy count among their blessings a |
|
|
fine family that includes two children, Brent and Bruce Flournoy, |
|
|
as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, with |
|
|
whom they treasure sharing the many special occasions of life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past five decades, Betty and |
|
|
Jim Flournoy can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|
|
know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |
|
|
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Betty and Jim Flournoy on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Flournoy as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
