H.R. No. 1295
         WHEREAS, Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Houston held a
  groundbreaking ceremony for its new fellowship hall on March 24,
  2013, marking an exciting milestone in the ongoing development of
  this important institution; and
         WHEREAS, Since its organization in 1868, Oak Hill MBC has
  benefited from the dedicated efforts of a number of outstanding
  clergymen, including Dr. A. M. Landry, who leads the congregation
  today; and
         WHEREAS, Those who attend this notable house of worship
  support a variety of commendable programs, through which they
  minister to one another and provide help to those in need; the
  construction of Oak Hill's new fellowship hall will enable the
  church to better serve its congregants, as they in turn strive to
  serve the wider community; and
         WHEREAS, Sustained by their deep faith, Dr. Landry and the
  members of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church are working to build a
  vibrant church community in the Bayou City, and it is a pleasure to
  celebrate this significant moment in the history of their church;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the groundbreaking ceremony for the
  new fellowship hall at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church and
  extend to all those involved sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
