R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The second annual Lil Earl's Hometown BBQ Throwdown |
|
|
is taking place at the historic Harrison County Courthouse in |
|
|
Marshall on April 12 and 13, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association |
|
|
championship event, the cook-off features highly skilled pit |
|
|
masters who will be entering the contest to vie for top honors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A fund-raiser for the Marshall Food Bank, the BBQ |
|
|
Throwdown is being held in conjunction with the city's Second |
|
|
Saturday festivities, which include a car show and live |
|
|
entertainment; participants will enjoy a fun, family-oriented |
|
|
atmosphere along with great food and spirited competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lil Earl's Hometown BBQ Throwdown is a fitting |
|
|
celebration of the tasty cuisine that is such an integral part of |
|
|
Texas culture, and the gathering is all the more special for the |
|
|
valuable support it is providing to people in need in the area; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd |
|
|
Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the second annual Lil Earl's |
|
|
Hometown BBQ Throwdown and extend sincere best wishes to all those |
|
|
involved for an enjoyable and rewarding event; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the cook-off as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
