         WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
  recognize Luke Joeckel of Texas A&M University, who has been named
  the recipient of the 2012 Outland Trophy; and
         WHEREAS, This coveted honor is awarded each year to the
  nation's top interior lineman by the Football Writers Association
  of America; and
         WHEREAS, A junior offensive tackle and three-year starter,
  Mr. Joeckel was the mainstay of an Aggie offensive line that had a
  profound impact on the team's success in its inaugural season in the
  Southeastern Conference; and
         WHEREAS, The Aggies finished third in the nation in total
  offense, with 552.3 yards per game, and in scoring offense, with
  44.8 points per game; the line played a vital role in the
  extraordinary success of Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny
  Manziel; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Joeckel is a first-team All-American and is
  respected and admired by his teammates, his coaches, and his
  opponents; he is truly deserving of recognition for his hard work,
  his dedication, and his exceptional skill; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Luke Joeckel on his receipt of the
  2012 Outland Trophy and commend him on his extraordinary
  achievements at Texas A&M University; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Joeckel as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
