R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Cooke County Electric Cooperative Association is |
|
|
celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2013, and this significant |
|
|
milestone provides a welcome opportunity to honor the organization; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, CCECA has been dedicated to providing power to rural |
|
|
homes and businesses since its founding in 1938; originally serving |
|
|
98 members, the cooperative has grown steadily over the years and |
|
|
today supports more than 9,400 residents in Cooke, Montague, |
|
|
Grayson, Wise, and Denton Counties; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, CCECA also sponsors a scholarship program, which |
|
|
benefits 12 high school seniors each year; moreover, its employees |
|
|
play an important role in the community as volunteer firefighters |
|
|
and as church, youth, and civic leaders; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For seven and a half decades, Cooke County Electric |
|
|
Cooperative Association has fulfilled its vital mission, |
|
|
contributing immeasurably to the quality of life of area residents; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 75th anniversary of Cooke County |
|
|
Electric Cooperative Association and extend to all those associated |
|
|
with CCECA sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the cooperative as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
