A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment authorizing the use of |
|
|
available Veterans' Land Board money for the payment of educational |
|
|
benefits for veterans. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 49-b, Article III, Texas Constitution, |
|
|
is amended by adding Subsection (x) to read as follows: |
|
|
(x) The legislature by general law may provide for the use |
|
|
of available money in the Veterans' Land Fund, the Veterans' Housing |
|
|
Assistance Fund, or the Veterans' Housing Assistance Fund II for |
|
|
the payment of educational benefits for veterans. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 5, 2013. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment authorizing the use of |
|
|
available Veterans' Land Board money for the payment of educational |
|
|
benefits for veterans." |
