AN ACT
  relating to waivers and grants of credit for the requirements to
  obtain certain private security licenses to individuals who hold
  security credentials from the United States armed forces.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  The heading to Section 1702.1183, Occupations
  Code, is amended to read as follows:
         Sec. 1702.1183.  RECIPROCAL LICENSE FOR CERTAIN [FOREIGN]
  APPLICANTS.
         SECTION 2.  Section 1702.1183, Occupations Code, is amended
  by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
         (c)  The board shall adopt rules under which the board may
  waive any prerequisite to obtaining a license for, and credit
  experience for a license requirement to, an individual who the
  board determines has acceptable experience gained during service in
  a branch of the United States armed forces, including the United
  States Coast Guard.
         SECTION 3.  The Texas Private Security Board shall adopt
  rules to implement Section 1702.1183(c), Occupations Code, as added
  by this Act, as soon as practicable after the effective date of this
  Act.
         SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
