A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a requirement that a state agency post the results of |
|
|
certain audits on the state agency's Internet website. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 2102, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 2102.015 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2102.015. PUBLICATION OF AUDITS ON INTERNET. (a) |
|
|
Notwithstanding Section 2102.003, in this section, "state agency" |
|
|
means a board, commission, department, institute, office, or other |
|
|
agency in the executive branch of state government that is created |
|
|
by the constitution or a statute of this state, including an |
|
|
institution of higher education as defined by Section 61.003, |
|
|
Education Code. |
|
|
(b) A state agency shall make available to the public by |
|
|
posting on the agency's Internet website an audit of the agency, |
|
|
including an internal audit and a risk assessment report, at the |
|
|
time and in the manner provided by the state auditor. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
