R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The North Richland Hills Parks and Recreation |
|
|
Department received the 2013 Texas Gold Medal Award from the Texas |
|
|
Recreation and Park Society; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A nonprofit professional and educational |
|
|
organization, TRAPS works to advance parks, recreation, and leisure |
|
|
services professions in Texas; its annual Gold Medal Awards are |
|
|
presented to communities that have demonstrated excellence for |
|
|
three consecutive years in park and recreation resource management, |
|
|
community programs, long-range planning, and solicitation of |
|
|
public input; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of managing director of |
|
|
community services Vickie Loftice and assistant directors Bill |
|
|
Thornton and Sharon Davis, NRH Parks and Recreation offers |
|
|
residents more than 740 acres of parkland, as well as facilities for |
|
|
athletics, community events, and cultural programs; the department |
|
|
received the Texas Gold Medal Award in the category for cities with |
|
|
populations between 50,000 and 100,000; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The North Richland Hills Parks and Recreation |
|
|
Department contributes significantly to the quality of life in the |
|
|
area, and all those associated with it may indeed take great pride |
|
|
in this prestigious recognition of their efforts; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate the North |
|
|
Richland Hills Parks and Recreation Department on its receipt of |
|
|
the 2013 Texas Gold Medal Award from the Texas Recreation and Park |
|
|
Society and extend to its staff sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the department as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
