SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 61
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Michael Anthony Jordan
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  residents of Brownsville in mourning the loss of Michael Anthony
  Jordan, who died on March 2, 2013, at the age of 54; and
         WHEREAS, Michael Jordan led an active life filled with
  loving family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, This longtime resident of the Rio Grande Valley
  attended Saint Joseph's Academy in Brownsville, and he earned a
  bachelor of science degree in marine engineering from Texas A&M
  University at Galveston; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Jordan also received his Merchant Mariner
  credentials from the United States Coast Guard and attained a
  master's degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M
  University--Kingsville; and
         WHEREAS, A well-liked citizen in his community, Mr. Jordan
  played a significant role in the operation of his family's
  restaurant, Gio's Villa; and
         WHEREAS, Michael Jordan was a loving father and a friend to
  many, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew him; he is
  survived by his three children, his mother, and his two brothers
  and by several nieces and nephews; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of Michael Anthony Jordan;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Michael Jordan.
