R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Jacqueline Falcon was named valedictorian of the |
|
Class of 2013 at Grulla High School, and for achieving this |
|
significant honor, she indeed merits special recognition; and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted |
|
distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide |
|
range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social |
|
studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and |
|
preparation are myriad; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom, |
|
Ms. Falcon participated in band and in the Starr County Youth |
|
Coalition, and she generously volunteered throughout the |
|
community; she focused much of her effort on events that involved |
|
children, including the Special Olympics and the Winter Wonderland |
|
and Snow Festival, as she hopes to one day pursue a career as a |
|
pediatrician; she also assisted at the Starr County Fair first aid |
|
station and at local clinics and hospitals; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Falcon plans to study biology at The University |
|
of Texas at Austin and then to continue her education in graduate |
|
and medical school; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jacqueline Falcon earned the respect and admiration |
|
of her teachers and classmates at Grulla High, and her exceptional |
|
scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have |
|
surely opened the way to limitless opportunities for this |
|
remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jacqueline |
|
Falcon, valedictorian of the Grulla High School Class of 2013, and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Falcon as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
