R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jacqueline Falcon was named valedictorian of the
  Class of 2013 at Grulla High School, and for achieving this
  significant honor, she indeed merits special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; the student who garners this coveted
  distinction must demonstrate a thorough understanding of a wide
  range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social
  studies, yet the rewards of the countless hours of study and
  preparation are myriad; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her success in the classroom,
  Ms. Falcon participated in band and in the Starr County Youth
  Coalition, and she generously volunteered throughout the
  community; she focused much of her effort on events that involved
  children, including the Special Olympics and the Winter Wonderland
  and Snow Festival, as she hopes to one day pursue a career as a
  pediatrician; she also assisted at the Starr County Fair first aid
  station and at local clinics and hospitals; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Falcon plans to study biology at The University
  of Texas at Austin and then to continue her education in graduate
  and medical school; and
         WHEREAS, Jacqueline Falcon earned the respect and admiration
  of her teachers and classmates at Grulla High, and her exceptional
  scholastic ability, hard work, and commitment to excellence have
  surely opened the way to limitless opportunities for this
  remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jacqueline
  Falcon, valedictorian of the Grulla High School Class of 2013, and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Falcon as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
