The Committee will meet to discuss and examine areas of potential privatization of state services in an effort to achieve a higher level of service and greater efficiency for Texas taxpayers (Joint with the House Committee on State Affairs).

The Committee will also meet to discuss and examine state agency rulemaking and consider ways to improve procedural efficiencies and public transparency, and to better inform policymakers as to their use, purpose, and cost-effectiveness, including an examination of the financial and other impacts such regulations have on both the license holder and the public (Joint with the House Committee on State Affairs).

The Committee will hear invited and public testimony.

·                Although written testimony will not be considered a part of the record, persons wishing to distribute handouts may do so by providing no fewer than 30 copies to the Committee Clerk when called to testify.

·                The Chair reserves the privilege to call witnesses out of order of the agenda based on witness availability and the business needs of the committee.
