Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with HCR 63, a public hearing of the Joint Interim Committee to Study the Public School Finance System was held on Monday, July 30, 2012, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.030 (House Appropriations) in Austin, Texas.

Joint Chair Representative Jimmie Don Aycock called the meeting to order at 9:12 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Representative Jimmie Don Aycock and Senator Florence Shapiro, as Joint Chairs, shared presiding duties throughout the hearing.

 

Senator Jane Nelson moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearing held on May 17, 2012; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Representative Jimmie Don Aycock made opening remarks to the Committee.

 

Representative Jimmie Don Aycock called the following invited witnesses to provide testimony. See attached list.

 

At 11:50 AM Senator Florence Shapiro assumed the chair.

 

At 11:55 AM Representative Jimmie Don Aycock resumed the chair.

 

Representative Jimmie Don Aycock moved that the invited testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

No public testimony was taken.

 

There being no further business, at 1:22 PM Representative Jimmie Don Aycock moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Joint Chairs. Without objection, it was so ordered.
