Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Open Government, Select was held on Thursday, March 24, 2011, in the Betty King Committee Room at the State Capitol in Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:39 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair recognized committee staff, namely Rudy England, committee director, and Amanda Kit, committee clerk and policy analyst.

 

The chair recognized the members of the committee for opening remarks.

 

Senator Ellis moved adoption of the committee rules. Senator Davis seconded the motion.  The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

 

There being no further business, at 8:45 AM Senator Wentworth moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
