Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources was held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:03 AM.  The following business was transacted:

 

Chairman Fraser made opening remarks. 

 

The chair laid out SB 667 and recognized the author, Senator Duncan, to explain the bill.

 

The roll was called at 9:08 AM.  A quorum was present.

 

Senator Hegar assumed the chair. 

 

The chair laid out SB 332 and recognized the author, Senator Fraser, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Fraser resumed the chair.

 

Invited witnesses testifying and registering on both SB 332 and SB 667 are shown on the attached list.

 

At 10:55 AM Senator Fraser moved that the committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after the adjournment of the Senate; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

At 12:48 PM Senator Fraser reconvened the meeting.

 

Invited witnesses testifying on both SB 332 and SB 667 continued with their testimony.

 

Senator Seliger assumed the chair.

 

Senator Fraser resumed the chair.

 

Senator Hegar assumed the chair.

 

Senator Fraser resumed the chair.

 

Senator Fraser moved limit public testimony to 3 minutes.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Seliger assumed the chair.

 

Senator Fraser resumed the chair.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed on SB 332 and SB 667. Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Fraser moved that SB 332 and SB 667 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 6:22 PM Senator Fraser moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
