Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Government Organization was held on Monday, February 7, 2011, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m.. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair called Ken Levine of the Sunset Advisory Commission to provide invited testimony on the Sunset Advisory Commission process. (See attached witness list).

 

The chair laid out the proposed committee rules at 2:10 p.m. and explained there were no changes.

 

Senator Hegar moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair introduced committee staff  and recognized Senator Birdwell as a new member of the committee at 2:16 p.m.

 

At 2:26 p.m. Senator Ellis moved that the committee stand at ease subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
