Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Subcommittee on Medicaid was held on Thursday, March 24, 2011, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:06 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair called members of the Texas Legislative Budget Board to provide invited testimony.

 

The chair called members of the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services to provide invited testimony.

 

The chair called members of the Texas Department of State Health Services to provide invited testimony.

 

The chair called members of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to provide invited testimony.

 

At 9:46 AM Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

 

At 9:48 AM Senator Nelson resumed the chair.

 

Senator Nelson made a motion to adopt the Subcommittee’s recommendations.  The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 2 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

 

There being no further business, at 10:11 AM Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
