Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 AM.

 

The clerk called roll.

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called:

There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

 

Senate Bill 1 was laid out as pending business.

 

Testimony was given on the following agencies.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

Department of Family and Protective Services

 

At 10:45 AM Senator Hinojosa moved that the Committee stand recessed until 1:30 PM. Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

At 2:02 PM Senator Ogden reconvened the meeting.

 

Testimony continued for the Department of Family and Protective Services.

 

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

 

Department of Aging and Disability Services

 

The Legislative Budget Board laid out Special Provisions Relating to all Health and Human Services agencies.

 

Health and Human Services Commission

 

Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

 

Public testimony was heard on SB 1.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

 

Senator Ogden moved that Senate Bill 1 be left pending.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 6:21 PM Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed until 9:00 AM, February 2, 2011.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
