Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Friday, May 20, 2011, in the E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 24, 2011, at 9:00 AM.  The committee recommended the removal of HB 753, HB 1075, HB 1797, HB 1830, HB 1964, HB 2707, HB 2853, HB 2982, HB 3033, HB 3134, HB 3145, HB 3404, and HB 3616.

 

Senator Uresti moved that the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 24, 2011, at 9:00AM be certified.  The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 3 absent, and 0 present not voting.

 

The chair laid out HCR 117 and recognized Senator Wentworth, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill.

 

No witnesses testified or registered on the bill.

 

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

 

Senator Wentworth moved that HCR 117 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent.  Senator Shapiro moved that the bill be certified for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out HCR 130 and recognized Senator Wentworth, in the absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill.

Senator Eltife sent up Committee Amendment 1 and moved adoption; without objection, the amendment was adopted.

Senator Eltife sent up Committee Amendment 3 and moved adoption; with objection, the amendment was withdrawn.

At 9:33 AM Senator Eltife resumed the chair.

 

As a matter of pending business, the chair moved that HB 1070 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent.  Senator Wentworth moved that the bill be certified for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

 

There being no further business, at 9:34 AM Senator Eltife moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
