Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, May 2, 2011, in the E1.714.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

 The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 5, 2011, at 8:00 AM. The committee recommended the removal of SB 1032 and SB 1164 and that SB 1491 and SB 1902 be left pending.

 

 Senator Wentworth moved that the list of bill recommended for placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar to be held on May 5, 2011, at 8:00 AM be certified. The motion carried with a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 3 absent, and 0 present not voting.

 

The chair laid out HB 726 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Huffman, to explain the bill.  

 

 Witnesses registering but not testifying on the bill are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair moved that public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

 

Senator Eltife moved that HB 726 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent.  Senator Eltife moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out HB 610 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Seliger, to explain the bill.

At 9:30  AM Senator Eltife resumed the chair.
