Pursuant to a notice posted on February 10, 2011,  and a suspension of the 5-day  posting rule on February 14, 2011 to consider HB 71, the House Committee on Transportation met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Phillips, at 8:03 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Phillips; Darby; Fletcher; Harper-Brown; Lavender; and Pickett.

 

A quorum was present.

HB 71

 

The chair laid out HB 71.

 

The chair recognized Representative Martinez, "Mando" to explain HB 71.

 

Representative Harper-Brown moved that HB 71, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Phillips; Davis, Yvonne; Fletcher; Harper-Brown; Lavender; Martinez, "Mando"; Pickett (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Darby; Bonnen; McClendon; Rodriguez, Eddie (4).

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was reported from committee.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Harper-Brown moved that HB 71, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Phillips; Davis, Yvonne; Fletcher; Harper-Brown; Lavender; Martinez, "Mando"; Pickett (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

At 9:46 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
