Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on March 22, 2011 and permission to meet while the House is in session during bill reading and referral on March 22, 2011, the House Committee on State Sovereignty, Select met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Creighton, at 11:55 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Creighton; Darby; Miller, Sid; and Pitts.

 

A quorum was present.

 

HB 32

 

The chair laid out HB 32 as pending business.

 

Representative Miller, Sid offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Miller, Sid moved that HB 32, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Creighton; Darby; Miller, Sid; Pitts (4).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Martinez Fischer; Branch; Thompson (3).

The chair laid out HB 335 as pending business.

 

Representative Darby moved that HB 335, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Martinez Fischer; Branch; Thompson (3).

 

HCR 27

 

The chair laid out HCR 27 as pending business.

 

Representative Pitts moved that HCR 27, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
