Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 20, 2011 and with permission granted by the house on May 20, 2011 to meet while the house is in session, the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Miller, Sid, at 5:19 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Miller, Sid; Fletcher; Beck; Burnam; Driver; Flynn; Mallory Caraway; Pena; and Walle.

 

A quorum was present.


 

SB 1658

 

The chair laid out SB 1658 as pending business.

 

The chair explained SB 1658.

 

Representative Burnam offered an amendment to the measure.

 

The amendment was withdrawn without objection.

 

Representative Flynn moved that SB 1658, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Miller, Sid; Fletcher; Beck; Driver; Flynn; Mallory Caraway; Pena (7).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Burnam; Walle (2).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        None (0).

 

At 5:29 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
