Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 19, 2011,

and with permission granted by the house on May 19, 2011 to meet while the house was in session,  the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Miller, Sid, at 6:53 p.m.
