Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 17, 2011, the House Committee on Public Education was given permission to meet while the House was in session on May 17, 2011 in a formal meeting.   The meeting was called to order by the chair, Representative Eissler, at 2:35 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Eissler; Dutton; Huberty; Shelton; Smith, Todd; Strama; and Weber.

The chair laid out SB 471 as pending business.

 

Representative Shelton moved that SB 471, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
