Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 27, 2011 and with permission granted on April 27, 2011, to meet while the House is in session, the House Committee on Public Education met in a formal meeting. The meeting was called to order by the chair, Representative Eissler, at 4:17 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Eissler; Aycock; Huberty; Shelton; Smith, Todd; Strama; and Weber.

 

A quorum was present.

 

HB 400

 

The chair laid out HB 400.

 

Representative Smith, Todd offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Smith, Todd moved that HB 400, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Eissler; Aycock; Huberty; Shelton; Smith, Todd; Weber (6).

 

Nays:                           Representative Strama (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Hochberg; Allen; Dutton; Guillen (4).

 

At 4:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
