Pursuant to a notice posted on November 5, 2012, the House Committee on Manufacturing, Interim met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Murphy, at 1:37 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Murphy; Rodriguez, Eddie; Button; Isaac; Johnson; Lavender; and Munoz, Jr..

 

Chairman Murphy called the meeting to order and welcomed those present and described the purpose of the meeting to discuss infrastructure as related to manufacturing in Texas.

Chairman Murphy called the first panel to testify.

Invited testimony was taken from the first panel of witnesses; John W. Fainter Jr., AECT, James Mann, Texas Pipeline Association, Carolyn Brittin, Texas Water Development Board, Phillip Oldham, Texas Association of Manufacturers.

Chairman Murphy called the second panel to testify.

Invited testimony was taken from the second panel of witnesses; (Representative Lavender in chair.) Jeff Austin, Texas Transportation Commission, Dr. Bill Stockton, Texas A&M Transportation Institute, and Michael Stewart, Freight Shuttle International.

 

Testimony was taken from Marc Williams, TxDOT.

 

Chairman Lavender called the third panel to testify.

 

Invited testimony was taken from the third panel of witnesses; Thomas Marian, Buffalo Marine Services, Michael Stewart, (Representative Murphy in chair.) Craig Beskid, East Harris County Manufacturers Association, Earl Shipp, Dow Chemical.

 

Chairman Murphy asked for public testimony for which there was none.

 

At 4:25 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
