Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 4, 2011, and being granted permission on May 4, 2011 to meet while the house was in session at 4:30 p.m. in 3W.9 that same day, the House Committee on Licensing & Administrative Procedures met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hamilton, at 4:32 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Hamilton; Driver; Harless; Kuempel; and Thompson.

 

A quorum was present.

HB 1563

 

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which HB 1563 was reported favorably, as substituted, to the full house. The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Kuempel moved that HB 1563, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Hamilton; Quintanilla; Driver; Gutierrez; Harless; Kuempel; Thompson (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Geren; Menendez (2).

 

 

SB 529

 

The chair laid out SB 529.

 

Representative Harless moved that SB 529, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Hamilton; Quintanilla; Driver; Gutierrez; Harless; Kuempel; Thompson (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).
