Pursuant to an announcement on the House floor and a suspension of the 5-day posting rule to hear SB 1751 on May 17, 2011, the House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Jackson, Jim, at 9:05 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Jackson, Jim; Lewis; Hartnett; Raymond; Scott; and Woolley.

 

A quorum was present.


 

The chair directed that the May 13, 2011 minutes for the House Committee on Judiciary & Civil

 

Jurisprudence be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

SB 1026

 

The chair laid out SB 1026.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Scott moved that SB 1026, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
