Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor and with permission granted to meet while the House is in session on May 3, 2011, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Taylor, Larry, at 3:07 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Taylor, Larry; Hernandez Luna; Berman; Branch; Burkett; Farias; Isaac; King, Phil; and Veasey.

 

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out HB 1696.

 

Representative Burkett moved that HB 1696, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Taylor, Larry; Berman; Branch; Burkett; Farias; Isaac; King, Phil (7).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Hernandez Luna; Veasey (2).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

The chair laid out HB 2051.

 

Representative Berman moved that HB 2051, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Nays:                           Representative Farias (1).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        None (0).

 

At 3:10 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
